So Thurs I got this gorgeous "bouquet" of basil from the farmer's market (courtesy of Promised Land Natural Farm). I will definitely make some pesto with it (which freezes beautifully, allowing the sweet taste of summer to brighten up a dreary winter evening!) But, last night I decided to trim several leaves and add them at the end of a batch of linguine with clams: whole wheat linguine mixed with some fresh sauteed garlic and dark red heirloom tomatoes (also from the farmer's market), a few chopped olives, lemon juice, lemon pepper and wild caught fresh clams from McCaffrey's - yum!
